Description:
The big Pride Celebrity XL Heavy Duty (SC445/SC4450DX) is made for hard use. Sooner or later it will become time to replace your scooter's batteries, and when that time comes Monster Scooter Parts can keep you mobile with a great U1 battery.
We offer these batteries individually or in a pack of two in both chemistries - Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) or gel. Our AGM batteries offer a capacity of 35 Ah while our gel batteries offer a 32 Ah capacity. These U1 battery packs consist of a set of two 12 volt batteries which together provide your Celebrity XL scooter with 24 volts of electric power.
Both of our battery packs, whether the AGM or the gel type, offer a great one-year warranty. Either will meet or exceed your original equipment Pride Mobility battery pack specifications..
AGM Batteries
- Acid is absorbed by a very fine fiberglass mat, making the battery spill-proof. This enables shipment via air or ground without hazardous material restrictions.
- Higher capacity (35 Ah) compared to gel batteries (32 Ah) of the same physical size.
- Less expensive and more popular than gel batteries.
- Lower life span compared to gel batteries when batteries are regularly deep-discharged between charges. Life span is greatly improved if batteries are recharged before reaching 50% discharge.
- Safe for airline travel.
- Maintenance-free.
- Can be installed upright or on their side.
- One-year warranty.
Gel Batteries
- Acid is "gelled" by the addition of Silica Gel, turning the acid into a solid mass that looks like gooey Jell-O and making the battery spill-proof. This enables shipment via air or ground without hazardous material restrictions.
- Lower capacity (32 Ah) compared to AGM batteries (35 Ah) of the same physical size.
- More expensive than AGM batteries.
- Superior life span compared to AGM batteries when batteries are regularly deep-discharged between charges.
- Safe for airline travel.
- Maintenance-free.
- Can be installed upright or on their side.
- One-year warranty.
Both of these Universal Battery packs use what are known as U1 batteries. Note that the U1 designation refers only to a common universal physical dimension, and the name can apply to both AGM and gel types. The ubiquitous U1 is currently the most common size of power chair and mobility scooter battery.
Whether you choose the AGM or the gel type U1 battery pack for your Celebrity XL, you can rest assured of top-quality replacement batteries, and both packs are backed by a one year warranty. At Monster Scooter Parts, we want to be your source for the very best replacement Pride Mobility parts and accessories.
Break-in time for gel batteries
New gel batteries will perform better after a break-in period of between 15 and 20 cycles (discharged and then recharged). If you recharge your scooter or power chair's battery every night, this break-in period should last about two to three weeks before your gel batteries become activated to their full power potential.
In addition, gel batteries should always be recharged by way of a battery charger that has been optimized for gel-batteries.
