Description:
The Lincoln Electric LE B-257 P is a low-hydrogen pipe-welding electrode classified to AWS A5.1 E7018-1 H4 and EN ISO 2560-A E 46 5 B 42 H5, engineered specifically for SMAW/MMA welding of carbon-steel pipe and compatible low-alloy steels. Its basic low-hydrogen coating supports welding at relatively low current settings, making it well suited to root, filling and capping passes on pressure pipe and pipeline work. Available in 2.5mm, 3.2mm, 4.0mm and 5.0mm diameters at 350mm length, it covers a wide range of positional pipe-welding requirements.
Key Features:
- Designed particularly for steel pipe welding including pressure-pipe fabrication and pipeline installation
- Basic low-hydrogen coating with H4 diffusible hydrogen classification (not exceeding 4ml per 100g of deposited weld metal)
- Supports welding at relatively low current settings for controlled heat input
- Suitable for welding positions PA, PB, PC, PF, PE and PH (vertical-down excluded)
- Meets enhanced low-temperature impact-toughness requirements (E7018-1 classification)
- Runs on DC Electrode Positive (DC+) current
